St David's Day Celebration On 1st March this year a celebration was held in the parlour with music, poetry, readings and a talk by Gareth Evans on the life of St David. Tea and welsh cakes were consumed as the audience listened to harps, flute and guitar and delightful singing. Thank you Rajan Madhok for organising this event in partnership with Ruthin Indian Cultural exchange and William Matthias.

The High Sherrif of Clwyd, Karen Farrell-Thornley, paid a surprise visit to Nantclwyd y Dre on 3rd March to present a certificate to the volunteers in recognition of the work they put in to make the garden such a peaceful and beautiful place. There are newly planted fruit trees in the lower garden as part of the drive to sustainability and to encourage wildlife.

Quiz Night On January 28th the Friends held their post Christmas quiz night. It was a full house with Robert Hughes posing the questions and keeping everyone in order. Nerys Roberts' team won and took home the coveted boxes of chocolates. High stakes indeed. Another jolly evening in the parlour and back by popular demand for a third time.

Murray Bragg tree planting Also, earlier this year, a Rowan tree was planted to remember Murray Bragg. He was a founder member of The Friends and worked hard to set up this group. He loved Nantclwyd y Dre. Mrs Jean Bragg and Scott the gardener (who is the grandson of Mrs Dyer Gough, the last owner of Nantclwyd y Dre) can be seen here in the lower garden which has been redeveloped after the rebuilding of the retaining wall which had collapsed.
